Simplifying testing of TETRA radios and CDMA 450 mobile phones
The Willtek 4914 Antenna Coupler makes testing of TETRA terminals easier. Where technicians previously had to move around many RF adapters (radio frequency adapters) for different types of TETRA mobile stations, they now can simply place the unit under test on the 4914 Antenna Coupler, adjust the shuttle to a predefined position and start the test. Using a coupling device with an antenna has the additional advantage of including the antenna in the test whereas individual adapters are often connected in place of the antenna or with a connector that bypasses the antenna.
Repeatable measurements over the whole wireless device TThe 4914 Antenna Coupler has been designed for tests of mobile phones and radio equipment operating in the 400 MHz range. The device under test is placed on the movable shuttle; the shuttle can be locked in any of 25 clearly marked positions. Ideally, a table for each type of mobile phone indicates the right position and the associated coupling loss. The 4914 should be connected to a radio test instrument like the Willtek 2303 Stabilock for TETRA or the Willtek 4400 Series Mobile Station Tester for CDMA and other cellular technologies. This test setup allows test technicians and even unskilled personnel to take measurements and perform incoming and final tests at high repeat accuracy and precision.
For very large mobile phones and radios, Willtek recommends the PDA Shuttle which includes a universal cradle which can hold PDAs and wider phones. The shuttles for the 4914 Antenna Coupler can easily be replaced.
